This Privacy Policy explains how Argus Archive collects and uses personal data when you visit our website at argusarchive.com, register for news and updates, or contact us directly.
This Policy applies solely to personal data collected through our website. It does not govern any data processed as part of our enterprise services, which are covered by separate agreements.

- Website analytics data: behavioural and device-related data collected through analytics technologies, which may include pseudonymised identifiers, browser information, approximate geographic region, pages visited, and interaction events, subject to your cookie consent preferences.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device information, referral URLs, session information, security-related telemetry, and server log information collected automatically when you visit our website.
We also process technical and usage-related information for security monitoring, abuse prevention, spam detection, and website integrity purposes.
We do not collect any special category personal data through our website.
Providing your personal data is voluntary. Where you choose not to provide it, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or send you the communications you have requested. There is no statutory or contractual obligation to provide personal data to us through our website.

Newsletter subscriptions are managed via our website, which is hosted on WordPress.com. Legal and Regulatory Requirements
We may disclose personal data to competent authorities where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Argus Archive or others.
With Consent
We will share personal data in any other circumstance only with the explicit consent of the relevant individual.
7. International Data Transfers
Certain service providers used by Argus Archive, including Automattic Inc. and Google LLC, may process personal data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including in the United States.
Where such transfers occur, we rely on appropriate safeguards under GDPR Chapter V, including the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Policy:
- Contact enquiry data: for a period of 2 years from the date of the enquiry, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Newsletter and marketing data: until consent is withdrawn or you opt out, after which active subscription data is deleted within 30 days. Minimal suppression-list records may be retained to ensure future communications are not sent in error.
- Website analytics data: retained in accordance with the retention settings configured in Google Analytics, currently set to 14 months, subject to your cookie consent preferences.
- Technical and security data: retained for up to 90 days for security, diagnostic, abuse prevention, and operational integrity purposes.
- Cookie consent records: retained for up to 12 months to demonstrate compliance with applicable consent requirements.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the website and the personal data processed, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and security monitoring provided through our hosting infrastructure.
9.1 Data Breach Notification
Argus Archive maintains an internal process for identifying, assessing, and responding to personal data breaches:
- Detection and internal reporting. Any confirmed or suspected personal data breach must be reported immediately by the identifying employee to compliance@argusarchive.com. All reports are logged and assigned a unique reference for tracking purposes.
- Assessment. Upon receiving a report, we assess the nature and scope of the breach, the categories and approximate volume of personal data involved, the likely risk to affected individuals, and whether the breach is contained or ongoing.
- Regulatory notification. Where a breach is likely to result in a risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, we will notify the Nemzeti Adatvédelmi és Információszabadság Hatóság (NAIH) without undue delay and, where feasible, within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach, in accordance with EU GDPR Article 33.
- Individual notification. Where a breach is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of affected individuals, we will notify those individuals directly without undue delay, in accordance with EU GDPR Article 34.
- Documentation. All breaches, whether or not they meet the threshold for external notification, are documented internally, including the facts of the breach, its effects, and the remedial actions taken.

You have the right to request information about the personal data we hold about you and to receive a copy in electronic form.
